Shunta Takino

President

Shunta is a second year undergraduate reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). He was born in Tokyo, Japan, but has spent most of his formative years in London. He has actively participated in Model United Nations since joining the university, taking part both as a delegate and chairs in conferences across Europe and East Asia.

Shunta believes that OUUNA provides a platform for internationally-minded students to get to know one another and engage in critical debate. As President, Shunta is responsible for general running of the committee and oversees Oxford International MUN (OxIMUN). He is looking to expand the reach of the association beyond Model United Nations by organising speaker events about pressing global issues.

Tatjana Marks

Tatjana Marks

Secretary

Tatjana is a first year undergraduate student studying Human Sciences at St Hugh’s College. She grew up in Munich, but has lived in and travelled around the US, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and China and all over Europe.

As Secretary, she’s in charge of all the administrative aspects of the OUUNA committee, which includes taking minutes and communicating with the Proctors. She also works with the other committee members to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Obianuju Enworom

Publicity & Events Officer

Obianuju Enworom is a 3rd-year visiting student studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. She is visiting from the United States; her home institution is Columbia University, where she studies Economics and Political Science. Obianuju has been involved in Model UN as a delegate in high school, then as a member of the secretariat for Columbia University’s high school conference for two years.

In her position as Publicity & Events Officer, Obianuju is responsible for organizing, managing and publicizing OUUNA events. She also oversees the social media tools, namely OUUNA’s Facebook page. Obianuju is tasked with maintaining relationships with other university societies and with relaying UNA-UK campaigns to OUUNA.

Michael Shao

Michael Shao

Debating Officer and External Conferences Coordinator

Michael Shao is an OXIMUN secretariat member and your debating officer for this term. He is from the US, and lives in New Jersey. At Oxford, he is a 1st year student in Teddy Hall reading PPE. He has done MUN for most of his life, and has been to conferences all over the world. Michael will help new members learn collegiate and university level MUN and prepare OUNNAs members for the conferences that they take part in. He will also host and chair weekly debates.
In addition, Michael will be serving as the External Conferences Coordinator, training delegations from Oxford this term to LIMUN and SCOTMUN. Tom Rowland

Tom Rowland

External Conferences Coordinator

Tom is a first-year medical student at the University of Oxford. He has been involved in Model UN since secondary school, as a delegate, Chair and Secretary-General at conferences across the UK.

As Treasurer he handles the finances of OUUNA, sets the subsidy level for Oxford delegates attending external conferences and is responsible for oversight of the finances of the OxIMUN conference.

Abhishek Agarwal

Abhishek Agarwal

IT Officer

Abhishek is a first year undergraduate studying physics and philosophy at Lady Margaret Hall. He has taken part in Model UN conferences as a delegate, chair and as a member of the secretariat.

As the OUUNA IT Officer, he is responsible for helping the committee in all IT related issues and maintaining the IT infrastructure.

Alexander Curtis

OxIMUN Secretary-General

Alexander is a second year undergraduate geographer at St. Catherine’s College. He grew up in eastern Hertfordshire, just to the north of London. As OxIMUN Secretary-General, Alexander is responsible for the organisation and delivery of the OxIMUN conference. He is assisted in this role by the OxIMUN Secretariat.
